Não estou conseguindo instalar todas as fontes de uma família específica

Salve galera,
Eu não estou conseguindo instalar todas as variações da fonte Fira Code, para ser mais específico a Retina e SemiBold. Baixei os arquivos de extensão “.ttf” tente instalar com duplo clique e não funciona fica “instalando” infinitamente da seguinte forma:

As outras abordagens que tomei foi copiar as fontes para a pasta “~/.fonts” e também copiar para “~/.local/share/fonts” nenhuma opção funcionou. Além de instalar usando o comando sudo apt install fonts-firacode , que só instalou parte das variações da fonte. Como proceder??? Vocês tem alguma dica???

tente isso (admitindo que use distro debian based):

crie pasta minhas_fontes (ou outro qualquer)
mova as fontes para ela
rode:

$ sudo chown root.root minhas_fontes -R
$ sudo chmod -x minhas_fonts/*
$ sudo mv minhas_fonts /usr/share/fonts/truetype
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure fontconfig

ou

$ fc-cache

reinicie a interface gráfica.

Executei exatamente os passos que vc me passou e não funcionou. E sim uso o Ubuntu 22.04!

O que isso significa?
Alguma letra com acento não fica de acordo com o esperado? Algum caractere não fica de acordo com o restante da tipografia?

Se for isso, talvez simplesmente não tenha o tal caractere especificado no arquivo da fonte.
Não conheço essa fonte que você mencionou.
Mas me recordo de já ter usado uma fonte que se descaracterizava quando eu usava algum caractere não previsto non arquivo.
Você acha que esse pode ser esse o caso?

É o seguinte eu estou tentando trocar o carctere do terminal que é o seguinte:

Pelo seguinte caracetere no zsh “❯”, então uma amigo meu disse que uma vez teve problema porque nem todas as variações de fontes foram instaladas, então to tentando verificar se é isso. Sobre não existir o símbolo eu até concordaria com você se no meu outro notebook eu não estivesse utilizando a mesma fonte com esse símbolo. Meu arquivo .zshrc se encontra dessa forma:

Ah, me escapou por completo.
Agora entendi o que você disse quando usou a palavra “variações”.

“Fira Code” é como é conhecido um conjunto/grupo de fontes.
As tais variações que você mencionou, são as fontes que fazem parte desse conjunto/grupo:

FiraCode-Bold.ttf
FiraCode-Light.ttf
FiraCode-Medium.ttf
FiraCode-Regular.ttf
FiraCode-Retina.ttf
FiraCode-SemiBold.ttf

… e você quer usar essas fontes nas sessões do terminal…

… Terminal que você optou por não usar o shell padrão: bash; mas sim o zsh…
Acho que a… flag(?) “Iniciantes” não cabe aqui.

Bem… seja como for, nesse outro tópico aqui nessa comunidade, foi relatado por duas pessoas que elas não conseguiram usar uma determinada fonte no gnome-terminal, mas com outros terminais (os padrões do KDE e XFCE) deu certo.

Nesse outro notebook que você mencionou, no qual tudo funciona perfeitamente… a distro usada é o Ubuntu também, com o terminal gnome-terminal, usando zsh?
Se for uma outra distro, com outro terminal, com outro shell… Experimente usar pelo menos o mesmo terminal e mesmo shell.

Sim, o outro notebook é um dell inspiron 14 3442. Nele eu usava o ubuntu com o terminal zsh
