Wifi muito lento no Linux Mint

Instalei o Linux Mint XFCE hoje, mas a conexão Wi-Fi está muito ruim mesmo com a minha internet sendo boa.

Alguem tem ideia do que eu posso fazer?

Precisamos de mais algumas informações para entender melhor o cenário. Em casos como esse, o Wi-Fi geralmente está relacionado ao roteador; problemas causados pelo Linux são mais raros e, quando ocorrem, costumam envolver drivers específicos de Wi-Fi.

Para nos ajudar a analisar, você pode verificar os pontos abaixo?

  • O problema acontece com outros computadores ou dispositivos?

  • Você já utilizou essa mesma rede com outro sistema (como Windows)? Funcionava normalmente?

  • Como está configurado o roteador? Ele está operando em 2,4 GHz ou 5 GHz? (Em 2,4 GHz há uma limitação natural de velocidade do próprio protocolo.)

  • Qual é a velocidade contratada da sua internet?

  • Quais são as taxas atuais de download e upload?

  • Qual seu nível de experiência com o Linux? iniciante, médio ou avançado?

Além disso, se possível, informe:

  • Marca e modelo do seu computador

  • Marca e modelo do seu roteador

Por fim, execute o comando abaixo no terminal e envie o resultado para análise:

inxi -F --filter

Com essas informações, você consegue já tem um norte para pesquisa, e também conseguimos te orientar de forma mais precisa.

Tive problema de velocidade de downloads, com todas as distros que testei: Ubuntu, Mint, Zorin e até no Fedora.

Descobri que o problema não era drivers ou bugs, mas uso um notebook e conexão era por Wi-Fi, o sistema entendia que tinha que limitar a velocidade de download para preservar a bateria.

A solução foi desativar o recurso de “Economia de Energia”. Quando desativei a velocidade de download normalizou.

Se o seu caso também é conexão por Wi-Fi, muito comum nos notebooks, isso pode resolver o seu problema:

Pontos a considerar:

a) As configurações abaixo foram realizadas no Fedora KDE.

b) Sempre faça um backup antes de modificar alguma configuração.

c) Todos os comandos são executados pelo terminal.

Para desativar a “Economia de Energia”, vai ter que configurar o NetworkManager.

Passo 1: Crie um novo arquvo de regra:

sudo nano /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf

Passo 2: Definir o valor para “Desativado”:

Copie e cole “[connection] wifi.powersave = 2” (sem as aspas).

Significado dos valores: 2 desativa e 3 ativa a Economia de Energia.

Passo 3: Salvar e reiniciar o serviço:

  1. Pressione Ctrl+O (letra O, não é zero) e Enter para salvar.
  2. Pressione Ctrl+X, para sair.
  3. Reinicie o NetWorkManager para aplicar a nova configuração: sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager

Passo 4: Verificar se a placa de rede aceitou o novo comando:

iw dev | grep “Interface” -A 10 | grep “power save”

O resultado dever ser: power save: off

Se a conexão do seu desktop ou notebook é por Wi-Fi e não a cabo, é possível que os passos acima resolva o seu problema.
