Linux Mint lento em vídeo FullHdD

Após um atualização da ubuntu-release-upgrader-core meu sistema começou a apresentar lags na reprodução de vídeo em FullHD em um monitor externo, o problema é que eu não estou conseguindo fazer downgrade e o backup já foi atualizado, qual seria a melhor medida a se tomar, eu acredito que um downgrade resolva porém não consegui realizar pelo Synaptic.

Provavelmente são os microcodes da Intel… sua CPU e da 3gen e foi bem afetada pelas correções da intel…

Se quiser fazer downgrade do intel microcode:
apt-get install intel-microcode=3.20191112
ou
apt-get install intel-microcode=3.20191112-0ubuntu0.18.04.2

Se voltar a funcionar, você pode marcar para MANTER na versão que está funcionando de acordo.
apt-mark hold intel-microcode

Se optar por essa saída, lembre-se disso pois poderá começar a dar problema em outra coisa e talvez uma versão posterior tenha corrigido esse comportamento errado da tela.

No Google Chrome, no Firefox até dá, mas muito menos perceptível e incomodante.

Uma coisa que eu testei foi rodar o Ubuntu 19.04 no pendrive para ver como iria reproduzir o vídeo, rodou bem, então outra solução que é possível é realizar uma instalação limpa.
Porém eu dei um ‘sudo apt autoremote’ depois disso melhorou considerável, está aceitável, mas ainda incomoda, ficando melhor a reprodução no Firefox do que no Google Chrome.

Eu segui o método apresentado neste fórum How to Enable WebGL In Chrome On Ubuntu? e deixei os dados da minha GPU desta forma:

Semelhante ao seu, porém o rendimento ficou muito pior, antes o vídeo ficava com lag somente em tela cheia, agora ele está apresentando até mesmo no tamanho padrão do vídeo.
Há um ponto que eu notei esse problema só está ocorrendo no Google Chrome atualmente, no Firefox eu não estou sofrendo disso.

Pois faz o seguinte. Tenta usar o Firefox com as camadas aceleradas via opengl.

Enquanto tiver como llvmpipe o seu renderer, está sem o módulo específico da sua placa gráfica. Ela deveria carregar o módulo i915 do kernel na inicialização.

Tenta dar um lspci -k pra ver qual módulo foi carregado para sua placa gráfica.

O linux Mint está rodando o Wayland ou o Xorg nessa versão? Veja assim:
loginctl
Vai mostrar qual é a sua sessão (<session_id>). Daí substitua o texto no comando abaixo eveja a saída
loginctl show-session <SESSION_ID> -p Type

Se for x11, certifique-se que o driver intel do xorg e os drivers acelerados do MESA estão instalados:
apt install xserver-xorg-video-intel mesa-va-drivers
Se for wayland, não sei o que fazer…
