Linux Mint 19.3 tela preta depois do login

Atualizei meu Mint pelo apt-get upgrade, e depois que reiniciou fiz login, mas a tela fica preta não entra na área de trabalho, com ctrl+alt+F4, faço login e dou um startx me retorna essa mensagem da imagem.
Alguém pode ajudar?

Boa noite, não funcionou

Então precisa de mais investigação… Visualize o log do X para tentar identificar outros erros. É o arquivo indicado pela mensagem, no caso desse foto: /home/d/.local/share/xorg/Xorg.1.log

Outra abordagem seria criar um outro usuário e tentar inicializar a interface gráfica. Se funcionar é sinal de incompatibilidade de alguma configuração na sua pasta pessoal.

Blz? fiz um upgrade nele hoje e rodei o comando do amigo Capezotte ai, ao vez ficar tela preta, volta para tela de login, fica nesse loop. Mandei outros comandos e voltou para o mesmo lugar de antes. Abri o arquivo de log do X mas não consigo identificar erro

Parece que o erro está aí, seu usuário não tem acesso ao /dev/fb0, que é necessário para ativar os gráficos. Dei uma pesquisada e aqui são algumas suposições de erros e possíveis correções:

  1. Seu usuário não está no grupo “video”. Para saber use o comando groups e veja se aparece o grupo vídeo. Se não aparecer, adicione-o.
  2. Forçar o X a usar o usuário root para ter acesso ao framebuffer. Seguir instruções de arch linux - startx cannot open /dev/fb0: Permission denied - Unix & Linux Stack Exchange
  3. Relatos em foruns de sucesso ao remover o X e reinstalá-lo. Achei muito perigoso pois o X pode ser dependência de um monte de pacotes!
  4. Adicionar como parâmetro do kernel a opção nomodeset pode resolver o problema também. Teste atráves da edição manual do grub na inicialização e se der certo torne padrão em /etc/default/grub

Mais investigação também dá para fazer sabendo quais pacotes foram instalados durante aquele “apt upgrade” da morte. Veja no arquivo /var/log/apt/history.log e acho o comando do dia com todos os pacotes que foram instalados. Pode dar uma dica do que causou o problema.


Em vez de remover e instalar o xorg, é possível usar o comando apt install --reinstall para definir de volta ao padrão. Verifique todos os pacotes que você tem instalado do xserver e reinstale-os. Veja exemplo:

Blz Deleterium, tentei suas sugestões, mas o bicho ta bravo não da certo, a quarta sugestão fica igual quando entra em modo recuperação. Pesquisei mais um pouco e usei uns comandos aleatórios. No momento fica só na tela de login, coloca a senha e retorna para a tela de login.
Outra coisa, não tem mais a mensagem (EE) open /dev/fb0: Permission denied.
A dica xf86-video-modesetting acho que não consegui fazer.

por acaso voce usa note com placa hibrida? ou desk mesmo

se for hibrida , enttre pelo modo de recuperaçao (aquele que tem recovery no grub) inicie normalmente,(provavelmente dara video -pois aqui tbm da isso toda santa vez-) agora instale o drive de video mais recente no gerenciador de drivers e reinicie normalmente e pode entra pela entrada padrão do mint que nessa altura deve esta tudo okay(pelo menos aqui é assim).se n for hibrida … teste , n custa nada

Ignore se você já passou essa informação e meus olhos cansados não conseguiu ver, mas você poderia informar qual processador e qual placa gráfica (se utilizar) você utiliza?

Nunca faça isso, provavelmente você tornará mais difícil a solução do seu problema.

Cola de novo o log do xorg.

Fiz os comandos rm ~/.Xauthority e sudo killall Xorg, passou pela tela de login, mas cai na tela preta.
Seguindo o conselho do tioguda parei ai e tirei os relatórios solicitados, configuração e log do Xorg.

Confirma que você tem o pacote do módulo intel para o Xorg.

sudo apt install xserver-xorg-video-intel-hwe

Eu acho que deveria subir esse módulo durante a inicialização do X, mas por algum motivo ele não está sendo carregado.

Por via das dúvidas, o que dá no log de inicialização com respeito a intel?

sudo dmesg | grep -i intel

Tenta sudo apt install xserver-xorg-video-intel
Ou ainda descubra o apropriado pesquisando nos pacotes disoníveis: apt search intel | grep xorg

Outra coisa estranha é que seu kernel é muito antigo… A versão 4.15 não é LTS e já foi descontinuada desde abril de 2018!

Talvez seja justamente esse o problema, algum bug que já foi corrigido nas versões mais novas. Sugiro alternar no kernel para a versão mais nova do Mint, 5.3.

No meu mint que fiz instalação padrão esses são os kernel que estão instalados:

Não sou expert no Mint, mas acho que para instalar nova versão do kernel e estar sempre atualizado, instale o meta-pacote do kernel generic:
sudo apt install linux-image-generic-hwe-18.04

Eu não lembro quais são os drivers que são disponibilizados no Mint, estou baixando a ISO para verificar, se for igual no Manjaro, acredito que por alguma razão o drive foi trocado, já vi muitas pessoas ficarem presas no login por causa disso.

apt no intel nada.
instalei o meta-pacote 18.04 depois
1 apt autoremove - excluiu kernel antigos
2 apt update
3 apt upgrade

Ao reiniciar mudou a tela do grub (animei), depois de logar abriu o desktop, tudo normal.
